Every time a homeowner is matched to a painter through this site and the job goes ahead, a percentage of that fee goes into the Fresh Coat Fund. A few times a year, the fund pays for a full exterior or interior paint job for a Denver-area household that couldn't otherwise afford one.
This isn't a "free paint job" out of nowhere. It has a real cost, covered by the fund and by the participating painter, who donates labor and materials at or below cost for the selected home. We say "community-funded" rather than "free" because someone is always paying for it: homeowners who used the matching service, and painters willing to take on a fund job.
Anyone can nominate a household, including yourself, but most nominations come from a neighbor, friend, or family member who knows the situation.
We follow up by email with the nominee to confirm interest and rough scope, and prioritize need and readiness of the fund.
A painter from our installer rotation completes the job, paid through the fund at a reduced or donated rate.
Any painter listed on this site can join the rotation. Jobs are offered in turn, prioritized by proximity to the household and any existing connection to it, never by who pays us more. Joining the rotation doesn't buy a better rotation spot.
